Published in 1959, this is a manual issued to station agents and other station employees of the Milwaukee Road (Chicago, Milwaukee St. Paul & Pacific). I'd imagine that it's similar to manuals issued by other railroads in that period.

Chicago and Northwestern system employee timetable number 1, in effect on October 29, 1972. By this time, the C&NW had absorbed the Minneapolis & St. Louis, the Chicago Great Western, and several Iowa shortlines. However, the Wyoming coal line hadn't yet been built, and it would be almost a decade before the acquisition of the Rock Island's Twin Cities-Kansas City mainline.
